An online project commissioned by Platform Centre for Digital Art in Winnipeg
Liquid Prairie is a online web project that uses Google Maps API, quicktime videos and text to chronicle a series of walks along the Red River Floodway in Winnipeg, Canada between February 2007 and April 2007.
There are nine pages and each page represents one walk. The web page is split horizontally with the Google satellite map on top with the route traced in yellow and a text bubble containing a narrative of the walk and a link to the next page . On the bottom a Quick time video plays automatically giving an alternative representation of the experience. The videos are made using photos taken from the walk and manipulated using MAX/MSP/Jitter software.
