Erika Lincoln:::Past work 2014 - 1999

After graduating from art school with majors in video and sculpture she began to incorporate robotics and interactivity into her work. With support from the Manitoba Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts Media Art stream and the large network of artist run centres across Canada Erika has been able to be an early adopter of algorithmic and generative art and has been one of the early female voices in the male dominated world of electronic art. Self taught and mentored by other artists she has created prosthetic devices to enhance or muffle human perception, designed and mounted interactive installations that use multi-sensor interfaces to explore virtual worlds and built kinetic sculptures that depict hybrid entities that are the result of merging biological and machine systems.
