The image files are drawn by my plotter from my installation Arboreal Intuitions (2023). The images are line drawings of tree rings generated from my customized StyleGAN2 ML model from the same installation. Due to a breakdown of the plotter’s motor that lifts the ink pen, the drawing file’s lift command could not be fulfilled and the result was that the pen moved across the paper as a continuous line. The ML generated image of yearly growth rings shifts to a wandering line resembling a circular rambling walk becoming a visual representation of the internal conversation I was having while reading. This shift from the computational space of the drawing file to the physical space of the plotter, with an inexecutable command, acts as a metaphor for my embodied experience of neurocognitive differences while trying to communicate through writing.
